Bring On The Colors

When you think of late spring and early summer, what images come to your mind? I picture lazy days at the pool or beach with bright colored beach towels and umbrellas. I see outdoor parties with strings of lights, fun-colored plates on the picnic table, and pretty flowers everywhere. I think of fireworks, kids joyously running with sparklers, red, white, and blue, lemonade, and sweet local strawberries!

This season makes me want to embrace all the happy colors in the landscaping and bring it into my home and life. 

As I look around the store, I’m reminded of the happiness that fills this time of year. (I’m also reminded how much I love air conditioning!) If you love this season, too, but you’re not quite sure how to bring those colors into your home, we’re here to help! 

Embracing The Season

• Incorporate Bright, Summer Colors - You don't have to redo your whole decor every season (but it's ok with us if you do!) Embrace the bright colors of summer with your tablescape, a fresh pop of color worked into your bookshelves, a colorful frame on an end table, a freshly styled summer tray, or a new floral arrangement full of bright colors.

• Don't Neglect Texture this Summer - Often we think of texture for the fall and winter, but you cane bring fun textures into your decor this summer, too. Think hobnail vases, woven baskets, and lightweight throws to add coziness to your decor. For your tabletop we love the look of linen napkins mixed with woven placemats or runners.   

• Bring the Inside Out - We talk a lot about bringing the beauty of nature inside your home. This is the perfect season to spend more time outside, so why not bring your beautiful decor to your porch, deck or patio. Refresh those outdoor pillows, bring out the melamine, and style your outdoor space with the same flair you style the inside of your home.  

Many times, it doesn't take a big, dramatic change to bring a fresh, happy feeling to your space. Just a little tweak here and there will usually do the trick.
